Motivation:

The cable layout of the offshore wind farms is a significant contributor to the expense of the project due to both the cost and the coupling with turbine locations, which in turns affects power production. Optimizing cable layout is an active research area and we need to strengthen the platform for dissemination of the code.

Tasks:

• Unification of the Github repo interarray and the Gitlab repo Edwin, maybe under a new name: OptiWindNet. This means depart from using the submodule approach, so either interarray becomes a package dependency of Edwin or they are fused together under the same name, 300h (amia 250, mikf 50)
• Create documentation, 50h (amia 40, mikf 10)
• Unit tests, 50h (amia 40, mikf 10)
• Notebook showing how to use Edwin with Topfarm, 20h (amia 15, mikf 5)
• Notebook showing how to use Edwin with HyDesign, 20h (amia 15, mikf 5)
• Input/output structure to make OptiWindNet compatible with other cable optimization platforms, 50h (amia 50)
