Simulation for project with several hub heights
Hi all,
After reading the docs and parts of the code I am wondering what would be the best strategy to simulate a complex (*) site.
(*) complex in this context wouldn't be "complex terrain". In this context it would be several wind farms with different turbine types, different hub heights, different wind inputs, etc.
For instance, from what I've seen from the different Site
classes, it seems everything is based on a reference site (mainly as "A" and "k" values) with some "speed-up's" and wind direction turning's on each location. If I want so simulate a large site ,e.g. main large wind farm with other wind farms in the surroudings, using only a reference site maybe would lead to discard potentially useful available wind information I have in the area. Also, it is not clear what is the best way to integrate different conditions on each location (wtg type, hub height).
Right now what we have is:
WindFarmModel(site, wtg)
and I'm thinking in something like
wfm1 = WindFarmModel(site1, wtg1)
wfm2 = WindFarmModel(site2, wtg2)
wfm3 = WindFarmModel(site3, wtg3)
wfm4 = WindFarmModel(site4, wtg4)
Project([wfm1, wfm2, wfm3, wfm4]) # This doesn't exist, it is only an example
or
site = XRSite(...) # being "..." a way to define (A, k) or (wspd, wdir) freqs on each location
# Also, a way to define which wtg is associated with each location
wts = WindTurbines.from_WindTurbine_lst([wtg1, wtg2, wtg3, wtg4])
wfm = WindFarmModel(site, wts)
So, something like
but for a general site with different farms interacting with different definitions for each site.
Is it possible to do something like this with the actual PyWake implementation?
If someone could provide some hints I would love to prepare and pull notebook examples to add some helpful information to perform these kind of simulations.
Thanks in advance.
KR,
