How to use effective wind speed and turbulence intensity default settings in Turbo Gaussian Deficit
I was wondering why the default values in the Turbo Gaussian Deficit model (https://gitlab.windenergy.dtu.dk/TOPFARM/PyWake/-/blob/master/py_wake/deficit_models/gaussian.py#L404) for "use_effective_ws" and "use_effective_ti" are set as False.
As I understood it, the two parameters in the init method determine whether the wind speed that is used in the model includes wake deficits and whether the turbulence intensity used in the model includes wake generated turbulence. Thus, I am a bit confused that the default value is False, since the wake reduced wind speeds and wake added turbulence are essential in TurbOPark, right? Or did I misunderstood the functionality of both parameters?
Furthermore, I am also confused about the example (https://gitlab.windenergy.dtu.dk/TOPFARM/PyWake/-/blob/master/py_wake/deficit_models/gaussian.py#L467), where it is proposed to set "use_effective_ws=True" and "use_effective_ti=False", which is different to the default settings.
What is the intention/function of the parameters ""use_effective_ws" and "use_effective_ti"?
And what is the correct setting for the Turbo Gaussian Deficit model, if I want to include wake caused wind speed deficits and wake generated turbulence in the calculations? Should I set both to True?
Many thanks,
Judith
