prepost: plotting updates, and minor change in test

Some very small changes. Note that one commit appears twice due to some merge mistakes, weirdly enough I couldn't get this fixed with a rebase. Since this is such a small change I decided not to spent more time on cleaning-up these double commit. Maybe the "Squash commits when merge request is accepted" will fix this.
